Have an idea for an emerging area of organismal biology where synthesis science might be needed, but that isn't quite ready for a formal working group? A catalysis conference might be the right fit. Catalysis conferences are short, focused meetings on emerging questions, theories, ideas, or controversies. Each brings together 10 to 20 scientists for up to a week at NSCORE, with a mixture of in-person and virtual participation. Successful proposals receive a travel budget for in-person participants, along with facilitation and administrative support. These meetings work toward a publishable opinion piece or white paper, and seed ideas for future working groups. Visit Participate to learn how to apply.
